Turkish producers’ HRC offer prices continue to soften Turkey’s hot rolled coil market softened further this week, as local producers’ prices slipped as low as $585/metric ton ex-works, due mostly to low domestic demand, sources informed Platts on Tuesday. “HRC ex-works prices sank to the $590-595/mt level, while transacted prices for few large volumes are even below this level. However, demand is low and buyers still prefer to wait before placing orders, as they don’t want to enter the holiday period in mid-October with high stocks when market demand is low,“ a major service center executive observed.
