Turning Pain into Purpose. I dont know anyone who has not - TopicsExpress

Turning Pain into Purpose. I dont know anyone who has not experienced some form of pain in their lives, whether physical, emotional or mental. So we all have pain, but why do some recover so well? There area lot of variables Im sure: environment, willpower, and support systems to name a few, but one of the strongest means is the ability to re-direct pain into purpose. Some of us get trapped in the pain. We re-live it over and over emotionally. We allow it to shift our perspective on life and people. We view every new situation through the past and therefore remain in that tragic moment forever like the movie Groundhog Day. Others experience pain and process it. They learn from their pain. They make a decision to help others who have experienced similar pain. They too remember the details of their trauma, but not to re-live it, but to compel them to prevent others from going through it or to help others overcome it. This helps us heal. We give purpose to our pain rather than allowing the pain to define us. Every time those people help someone else, they apply healing balm to their souls. In the bellow scripture, Paul did not whine and lament over the thorn in his flesh, instead he turned it around and gloried in his thorn - bearing the burden for Christs sake. Paul became as passionate in his service for Christ as he had been in opposition of the cause of Christ. He could have lived in regret of his past sins forever, but instead he owned up to them, repented, and expended His energies in the opposite direction. What have you allowed to overtake your life? Why allow a circumstance or season to define the rest of your life? You are not what youve been through. You are more than that. You are an overcomer. You are a fighter. You are the wisdom youve gained in the process. You are the compassion youve learned because of it. You are the testimony of deliverance on the other side. Take a deep breath. Refocus. Allow God to show you how to conquer what tried to conquer you. You are not a tragedy. Stop rehearsing the pain. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Many have endured more and recovered. You can do the same. Turn your pain into purpose. Let it motivate you to make a difference with your life. God spared you through the storm. Make your life count by helping others overcome. Life with purpose brings great peace and satisfaction. It gives you a reason to get up every morning. It allows you to rest at night knowing youve done something good with your life. Redirect. Renew. Rejoice. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (KJV) 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christs sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. @TheEagle_Visser.
