Twas the month before Christmas, and all through the hood, the search for poor Bonnie was not looking good... Watch this heartwarming Modern Christmas Miracle! vimeo/114840162 For months people had been trying to capture Bonnie and her companion Clyde (who unfortunately is still at large - see Help Find Bonnie and Clyde). Animal Control had been called numerous times, and were unsuccessful in trapping them. Independent Animal Rescue was alerted, and worked in concert with an increasingly larger group of people with big hearts, especially Ann. Signs and flyers went up everywhere they had been seen, and reports started coming in concerning their habits. Food was put out at selective places, to try to keep them away from Hillsboro Rd., which they routinely crossed. The break in the case came when Ryan, a carpenter nearby, announced that over a period of two months, he had befriended Bonnie, who would come to his shop. She was his girl! Bonnie was increasingly pregnant, and there was concern for her and the pups. Then one day Bonnie and Clyde disappeared. Three days later, Ann was searching a wooded area when she heard Clyde bark. She called Ryan, who came over and crawled into the underbrush. There was the nest, with Bonnie covering the babies as well as she could (it was December, and cold!). Ryan scooped up Bonnie and carried her in his arms back to his shop. Ann put the puppies in a box and followed. Ryan took care of the family for a week, until IAR was able to find a foster. He brought them over complete with a whelping box he had made. The foster family gave the doggie family a place of honor in their home, and are seeing to it that the puppies will be ready to leave at the end of January, well-adjusted and healthy. PS: Ryan is going to keep Bonnie! :D
