Twelve years ago today at approximately 8:46 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, the first of two planes struck the World Trade Center buildings in New York. More than 3,000 people lost their lives and our country was forever changed. Since that fateful day, members of our Armed Forces have continuously deployed across the globe to combat terrorism and weed out terrorists abroad. MCAS Iwakuni asks that you remember these events, as well as all of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to, and in the defense of, our great nation.
