Twenty-nine years ago, the Kansas City Royals went to the MLB - TopicsExpress

Twenty-nine years ago, the Kansas City Royals went to the MLB World Series, and won. That same year, some of the worlds most awesome, awe-inspiring musicians recorded this song, We Are The World, written by two of the best- Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson, in order to shine the light of awareness on one of the darkest, worst famines in history- in Ethiopia- where babies and children were dying in the arms of their heartbroken mothers as they stood in line waiting for food, for help, for anything. The Royals are on track to go to the Series again this year, after 29 years of a drought and famine of their own, so to speak. It has taken a lot for them to overcome their drought and famine - hard work, money, support from their sponsors, and fans. Their need for these things is met relatively easily by the worlds standards. But, as many people as earn their living through this massive baseball franchise, and the franchises around the country, it is entertainment. I love baseball, especially at the MLB level of excellence- but it is still entertainment. If one of the components necessary for MLB baseball to exist was missing, then it would not exist. People, however, obviously do not have that choice. Babies are born day after day after day- some into luxury: some into comfort; some into abuse; some into poverty. These babies all depend on another human being to survive. Everything they need has to come from someone else. Slowly, though, as they live and grow, many of them become fairly, if not totally, independent of other people. Those who do not get everything they need, though, are not so fortunate. One need is sometimes not met for not only individuals , but for families, communities, demographic groups, and even countries. The larger the group for whom the need of food and nourishment is not met, the more the impact of any outside help is felt, and is needed. When it comes to hunger, starvation, and death, there is only one thing that can help; only one thing the victims need in order to survive and overcome their plight- the only thing they need, is you. Please resign yourself to the fact that hunger and starvation will always be a reality somewhere in this world, and become determined that you will always be one person who will do what you can to help. youtu.be/M9BNoNFKCBI
