Two-Day Old BT Cleft Lip/Palate Male Pups - Fresno, CA I know the survival rate for these pups is slim but Ive heard of some success stories as well. The pups are still alert and feisty so I think they are worth a fighting chance...Ive suggested to the owners that they no longer try to nurse through mama to prevent aspiration pneumonia. Would anyone with a nurturing dog be able to help with tube feeding these two little lads and have the emotional armor to let them go if it gets hopeless? Theyll need a mama figure in their lives so a nurturing dog in the environment and keeping the two together is a must. Additional playful dogs (as eventual surrogate littermates) in the home is a plus. If they have cleft palates, their chances of survival are slimmer but some have been helped by reconstruction surgery. They will both need to be seen and examined by a vet once they are surrendered to Rescue. If there are any vets in the Fresno area with access to a catheter feeding tube, that would be helpful to the owner at the moment as she is trying to feed with an ordinary syringe. More information on cleft lip/palate pups and the needed supplies (we will fund) can be found here: themiafoundation/Caring-for-Orphaned-babies.html Thank you for any consideration! ~Suz
