Two Group Of People... For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. - 1Thes 5:7-8 The whole world was in darkness until Jesus came as the Light of the world; I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world...All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture...I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 9:4-5; 10:8-9; 14:6 NKJV) • You have a choice to make: + Moses said to the Israelites, See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil..I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. (Deuteronomy 30:15, 19 NKJV) + Joshua said to the Israelites, And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15 NKJV) + Jesus says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life...He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3:16, 18-21 NKJV) We are the children of Light that belong to the day, we are not of the world though we are in the world; and as Paul put it, But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. (I Thessalonians 5:4-10 NKJV) > In Christ we are all sons of light and sons of the day, called to be sober/serious/vigilant in our minds, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. • The Breastplate of Faith and Love guards our hearts to remain undivided in the Lord, and the helmet of hope of salvation keeps our minds stayed on Him Who is coming to take us home to be with Him forever. No wonder Paul said, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV) > If theres anything you need today in this dark, corrupt and wicked world it is the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, which can guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. And Jesus says, I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you...Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid...These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 14:18,27; 16:33 NKJV) • Friends, you are either in Christ or in sin, under grace or under the law, in the law or in the faith; its your sole responsibility to Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. (II Corinthians 13:5 NKJV) • Do you belong to the qualified group or to the disqualified group? > I belong to the qualified group by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:12-14 NKJV) • Friends, while it is the day, Jesus is calling you out of the labor/burden/bondage of sin, satan and religion; Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV) > Do not be deceived, for the life Jesus gives is easy and light, wherein you find rest for your souls in this dark world! + My prayer is that you belong to the group of the qualified by grace through faith in Christ Jesus; Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it...The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen! (1Thess 5:23-24, 28)
