Two armed robbery suspects are in the Effingham County Jail following an extensive 10 month long investigation into two commercial armed robberies. Deputies have arrested Casey Shearhouse, 20, and Aaron Kirby, 20, both of Guyton. Effingham County Sheriffs Investigators secured arrest warrants and tracked Shearouse to Baldwin County Georgia. Baldwin County Sheriffs deputies arrested Shearouse yesterday afternoon at a residence near Milledgeville. Effingham County Sheriffs Investigators arrested Aaron Kirby behind a residence on Watts Road after he fled from deputies. On October 24th, 2013, ECSO responded to an armed robbery at the Octane Gas Station on U.S 80. Aaron Kirby entered the store with a tactical shotgun and held the clerk at gunpoint making him fill a bag of lottery tickets and other items. Shearouse was the getaway driver. On October 22nd, 2013 ECSO responded to the El Cheapo store on Long Bridge Road on a report of an armed robbery. The investigation revealed Casey Shearouse drove Kirby to the location where he attempted to commit an armed robbery. Kirby jumped on the counter with a replica shotgun. The clerk pointed a firearm at Kirby before he ran away. Kirby has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and false imprisonment. Shearhouse had been charged with armed robbery. A 16 year old juvenile was also arrested and charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal as deputies were attempting to locate Kirby.
