Two brothers have pleaded guilty in a case of illegal trafficking - TopicsExpress

Two brothers have pleaded guilty in a case of illegal trafficking of eagle parts in Alberta. The aboriginal brothers were selling the parts at a pow wow, which led authorities to begin an investigation. Eagle feathers and parts are of spiritual, ceremonial and cultural significance to aboriginal peoples - but the birds have such small populations, they need to be protected. Do you think the governments distribution plan for these valued items will work? Or are there other solutions that will maintain the rights of aboriginal peoples while protecting at risk species? cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/eagle-parts-trafficking-case-nets-stoney-nakoda-siblings-8-5k-fine-1.2666372
