Two cinema visits in one day – haven’t done it for a while. Enjoyed both, won’t rave about any of them but give you a v humble and personal opinion instead. First Into The Woods which was hysterical for the first hour - it’s just hard to decide was most of it an intended joke or was it’s laughable because of the total ridiculousness. During the Agony all I could think of was how much better would JP & SB fit into the princes’ parts. Couldn’t help myself! 100-times better looking, don’t get me started on the voices! )) Anyway, I must admit some twist and turns was really clever and the Little Red Hood was the best of them lot! Stole the show for me completely! I came for fun and entertained I was. Still kept me wondering what kind of crack Sondheim uses as his daily diet.. ) Big Eyes is such an unusual film for Tim Burton! You know we all are get used to his signature visuals as dark, deformed and cartoonish for such a long time it’s hard to imagine him doing anything else! This one is totally different, almost ‘normal’ sort of biopic drama. Loved the story though sometimes you can see it thrown a bit off balance with the tiny bits of acting which is a exaggerated version of what such feature would demand. Which is kinda cute actually. It’s a good thing seeing one of your fave directors stepping out of their comfort zone and trying a new territory. Engaging and solid overall, Amy Adams giving a truly compelling performance with Christoph Waltz.. well.. being his usual self – made of huge smile, passion and hilarity! )))
