Two comments of a very senior Electrical Engineer Ahsan Mamun, I thought I should share with others, since these are an open comments in response to Rampal. Ahsan Mamun I believe that all possible sites were checked out before deciding on Rampal. What Dr Anu Mohammed and Co. are stating are straight forward lies .They are simply anti-state elements This is a state of the art power plant called "ultra super critical" power plant . All it will exhaust into the air is steam- water vapor -nothing else . This man came into prominence in 2006 when govt was about to give permission for extraction of coal .It is extremely sad that that, , the then leader of the opposition too supported him, without understanding what was being done !!!. . - YET IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN KNOWN THAT COAL IS THE KEY TO DEVELOPMENT -2.7 BILLION TONS OF MINE ABLE COAL and we are only toying with it at Boropukuria . It was possible to overshoot Singapore, because we had all the energy we needed to do it but BUT ALL GOVTS IGNORED IT , .Are we simply stupid or are we crazy ? Let me not repeat the billions lost in Solar Systems, and billions, , lost in Quick Rental Power in Dollar terms ! Govts may come and Govts may go , but their incorrect decisions and activities go on for ever Ahsan Mamun Khalida Zia did not allocate even 10% of the funds required to keep our main power plants in operation and keep us safe from load shedding that started soon after she stepped down . This is on record ..Hasina did the same for 3 years, then came up with the non affordable Quick Rental thing .There can be no excuse for such negligence. Politicians understand these things better than we do , so lets leave politics for politicians please , and reading History and coming to know the truth will not harm you , it will only give you a more informed and correct prospective of things .
