Two completely random thoughts of the morning thanks to boredom and the internet. 1.) Planet names. I realize it was ancient civilizations that named many of the planets in the our solar system after gods and goddesses. Venus, Neptune, Saturn and so on. :) But I find myself wondering why we cannot follow along so as to think of something a little more, lets say, catchy for newly discovered planets. Habitable or not. Asteroids are being given cooler names. I mean, who wants to live on a667C!?! Hmm? 2.) Apparently street vendors in China are selling live baby turtles sealed in tiny packages as keyrings! And this cruel accessory is somehow trendy. You would think given this kind of inhumane treatment of a living being that it would in someway, shape, or form be illegal- right? Sadly its not under Chinese law. If I lived in China I would make it my duty to steal each and every trinket I saw. Those poor turtles. :( *Headline: Vegetarian cannibal, known for having freed thousands of baby sea turtles said at a press conference today, I heard human tastes like chicken.
