Two decades ago (1990’s), in Ethiopia, 1 out of 5 children were dying before their fifth birthday. Afraid their children would die, parents waited a month or longer to name them. But now the country has lowered the deaths by over 60%. Today children get their names at birth. Parents expect them to live. Because they’re getting the health care they need to survive and thrive.
