Two delightful meetings in Cincinnati - both being artists, authors and pastors. The first was with Troy Bronsink author of Drawn In: A Creative Process for Artists, Activists, and Jesus Followers. I am truly enjoying our growing friendship and many wonderful conversations ensued, including the relational work one of my personal heroes educator Parker J. Palmer. Troy is a guru around the creative process and youre going to love the projects Troy is bringing about in the days to come. I highly recommend his book (Link Below). This morning I met with a new friend Mandy Smith. This courageous pastor showed refreshing wisdom and a disarming kindness as she offered a tour of many of the wonderful things their church is about in the neighborhood. She also told me how she has been inspired by the work of Esther Lightcap Meek, and how it had emboldened her and given her a wise path forward in her leadership and learning. She had read both Loving to Know and Esthers new book Little Manual for Knowing. I, of course, was delighted as I have been so inspired by Esthers work and friendship as well. I am stilling coming off the afterglow of a great meeting with Esther last week in Pennsylvania. Mandy is an InterVarsity Press author of the upcoming book The Vulnerable Leader.
