Two hundred endangered Grevy zebra have been counted in the Reserve - a record for this year. Theyve been driven from their usual feeding grounds by the drought, and are in serious competition with livestock. Its all such a delicate balance. The future of Samburus wilderness will rely on careful conservation and landscape planning - taking the migration routes, home ranges, buffer zones, and corridors that link one protected area with another into consideration - both far into the North and along each of the river systems. We have to keep the ecosystem intact, and we have to keep our rivers flowing, so that the wildlife can survive long term. Photocredit: Bernard Lesirin
