Two hundred fifty years of slavery. Ninety years of Jim Crow. Sixty years of separate but equal. Thirty-five years of racist housing policy. Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole. -- Ta-Nehisi Coates, The Atlantic, June 2014 Personally Ive experienced my share of black-white racism in Illinois in the 70s, a lot more in Orlando, Fla in 88, a fair bit of Mexican-white and black-white racism in Phoenix in the 80s and 90s, south Seattle, etc. but none as bad as NY and especially NJ the last 2 years. Racism still exists, even after all these decades and centuries... Puerto Rico - one of the Least racist places Ive lived (and I lived a year in nearly all black Loiza, PR, married a black (negrita, an endearing term here) Boricua, etc.). :D #Ferguson #LifesTooShortForBigotry #endALLoccupations
