Two injured during Central Kashmir clashes: At least two youths were injured during clashes with government forces incentral Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, some 22 kms from summer capital Srinagar, on Wednesday. Witnesses said clashes broke out in Khurhama area when a group of youth tried to take out a march against the killing of youth by army on Saturday. The youth hurled stones at CRPF and police deployed on Srinagar-Leh Highway after they were stopped by forces. Government forces burst tears smoke shells. Therewere no reports of any injury. Clashes also erupted in Khurhama Pati after scores of youths staged protests near Khurhama Crossing. Witnesses told Kashmir Dispatch that scores of youth raising pro-freedom slogans pelted stones on paramilitary CRPF men andpolicemen deployed in strength in Sumbal Lar Bypass. Police burst teargas canisters. However protesters offered stiff resistance leading to severe clashes. The clashes between police and protesters continued till reports last reached hear. Two youths sustained injuries.
