Two main points that I took from this article that the US education system misses: 1. Encourage learning over educating. However this would mean teaching kids to think for themselves, and theres not a chance that we would encourage free thought in the United States. 2. Value teachers. While teachers in Finland get paid essentially the same crap wages that we pay our teachers, the level of respect is much higher. Respect means a lot. Teachers didnt get into their profession to make a ton of money. They teach because they care about teaching our children, and we should treat them as the important people that they are.
