Two men killed in a collision in Sheffield in the early hours of Saturday (20 December) have been named by police. A black Vauxhall Astra and a blue Peugeot 206 were involved in a crash in Blackburn Road at around 1am. Joshua Fothergill, 19, from Rotherham, was inside the Astra and died at the scene. Liam Parkin, 19, from Sheffield, was inside the Peugeot and also died at the scene. Three other men inside the Peugeot – a 24-year-old from Rotherham, an 18-year-old from Rotherham and a 21-year-old man - were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment. Two of them have since been discharged. A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision and has been released on bail. Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or to anyone who saw either vehicle before the collision. Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 82 of 20 December 2014.
