Two new Yakima Police Probationary Officers were sworn in today by Deputy Yakima City Clerk Jodi Stephens. On the left is 22 year old Josh Lefore from Vancouver, Washington. Josh says his parents instilled in him a desire to help his community and being a police officer puts him in a position to do just that. Josh is newly married and he and his wife just recently moved to Yakima. On the right is 34 year old Andrew Giles. He spend 12 years in the credit union business before deciding to become a police officer. He is a native of East Valley and is married with 3 children. Andrew also said his parents instilled in him a solid work ethic and he has for many years wanted to be a police officer. Josh and Andrew will spend the next few months learning every aspect of the department and then in February they will attend the Police Academy. Welcome Josh and Andrew!
