Two nights ago, the Stand Up For Heroes benefit took place at the Theater at Madison Square Garden; to a sell-out crowd of 5,700. Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, & Bill Cosby did abbreviated bits; and Roger Waters led an all-star group consisting of musicians from his band and wounded members of the Armed Forces. But, headlining the event (and hes performed at all seven benefits since it started), was Bruce Springsteen. In his 21 minutes on stage, Bruce performed three songs (of which his cover of Suicides Dream Baby Dream is truly incredible); and even told a bawdy joke before each performance. After he finished, news anchor Brian Williams came onstage to auction off an electric guitar used by The Boss; and it went for an astounding QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS! (Bruce threw in a guitar lesson and an invite to his recording studio to boost the auction). Anyway, heres the clip of his entire performance; bad jokes and all. youtube/watch?v=64CFpeSGSNI#t=17
