Two of my favorite fan trip-era steam locomotives: L&N 152 (backing off the Old CV main at Hagans, VA after meeting a southbound coal train) on October 11, 1986, and Southerns first Mikado--the undisputed Queen of the steam fleet--number 4501, shown backing around the wye at Middlesboro, KY on April 26, 1975. The train had just arrived from Knoxville with a round trip excursion. The 4501s green and gold passenger colors werent authentic---but she looked great!
