Two photos from a sensitive Christian Aid-themed service led by Margaret yesterday, showing word bricks being pinned to our prayer wall for people whose lives have been torn apart by war. The photos are also an illustration of how were trying to intertwine the two identities of St Marys as a church and a performance venue. The gentleman who played the piano while we built the wall is Piano Pete. We met him a few weeks ago as a vocal performer rehearsing in Jamie Sturrocks upcoming Fringe show, Waterghosts. Since then Pete has adopted our battered but beautiful Bluthner grand and comes in a couple of times a week to play during church opening, so our enterprising vicar collared him for the interlude on Sunday. Which was just perfect. Thank you Pete! Waterghosts itself, on 23, 24 and 25 May, promises to be amazing. More information about that shortly.
