Two weeks back I saw this bird trying to make a nest in the orchid pot in our garden. I forgot about this bird for few days as I was out of station for AAA missions annual meet at Kolkatta. When I came back I accidentally noted the bird while watering the plant. A little water fall on her but she not flew away, she was sitting over eggs for hatching. I truly apologized her!!! I was so interested on the bird because she behaved fearlessly as if she knows me previously for many years. Today morning I noticed no bird in the nest, So I rushed to see what happened to her, to my anxiety I saw three little birds in the nest. I am really happy to see them. After few hours I saw the bird sitting in the nest. So I thought to take some photos. Here are the photos of my new friend. This bird is called as erattathalachi in malayalam, and Kondakolutha in Tamil but I dont know what we call it in English. Seeing this bird I remembered my child hood days spying after this type of bird in or house garden at Karadikuzhy Tea estate where my father was employed then.....
