Two weeks until Election Day! Please Share. Dear Ward Five Constituents: My name is Sean Reardon and I am running to be your representative on the Newburyport City Council. I live at 1 Cutting Drive, with my beautiful wife Jessie and our three children, Sadie (5), Ruby (4), and Oliver (1). I am a fifth generation Newburyporter from a family dedicated to community service. My grandfather, Warren Page, served the city for over 30 years on the Newburyport Fire Department, including 22 years as Chief. My father, Neil, devoted over 32 years to the youth of Newburyport as a teacher and coach. They instilled in me from an early age the importance of community and giving back. This family tradition of service is rooted here, where I was born and raised, and now choose to raise my own family. Some of my fondest adolescent memories are walking the streets of Newburyport as a paperboy for the Daily News, working down at the boardwalk as a summer dock master, mowing cemetery and school lawns for the DPW, volunteering with local young people as a basketball coach, and teaching early in my career as a substitute in the Newburyport school system. I have also worked for some of our favorite hometown establishments: the Park Lunch, the Port Tavern, and Michael’s Harborside. My Newburyport heritage gives me a unique appreciation and understanding of our city’s great history. Newburyport has come a long way since the time of my ancestors and our future looks very bright. It would be a great honor to represent Ward Five in the completion of the elementary school and senior center in our very own neighborhood. The Newburyport High School Alma Mater actually inspired my campaign slogan, “Onward! Forward!,” as a local rallying cry to inspire and encourage us to move ahead on the most pressing issues facing our city. By being your voice on the City Council, I see great things for Newburyport in the years to come. Let’s get energized and excited about the future of Newburyport. I would greatly appreciate your vote on November 5th. Thank you, Sean R. Reardon
