Two words for the #HIMYMfinale : LET DOWN. (SPOILER ALERT) 1. They tried to cram too many things into one episode 2. Not the feel-good finale I was hoping for 3. Just when we start to love Tracy, she comes to a sad end?! 4. From Twitter: How I Settled for Your Mother After I Accidentally Knocked Her Up After Robin Turned Me Down. Repeatedly. or, How I settled for your mother even though I still loved Robin. 5. Barneys otherwise sweet & emotional moment was tainted by the fact that it was a product of yet another one night stand with someone whom we never even see a face. Wouldve been perfect in other circumstances 6. No redeeming qualities in any of the characters - except maybe Lily & Marshall, who are pretty true to form in representing real-life marriage (sacrifices, compromise, emotional and physical support of one another, exhaustion but juggling as best you can) 6a. Barney is reduced to a cliche and a gimmick 6b. Robin is still selfish 6c. Teds love story is messed UP; not the romantic story hes searched for all this time. (After all the times he didnt compromise for the wrong girl and the writers lead us to believe hes holding out for the right one, he ends up settling anyway?!) 6d. Any character development we saw in these 3 characters is basically moot. 7. I dont see how anythings changed to enable Robin & Ted to live happily ever after.
