Two years ago today, I was at work with Rachel Pickles and feeling poorly. I called the ob doctor as I just entered my 27th week of pregnancy. I went to Baptist and met Jennifer Rogers Reed. Ill never forget how sweet she was when she told me that my liver was aching and my kidneys were crap. She held my hand while I tried not to cry and finally told me to just cry and get it out there before we rolled to the OR for a c-section. A brief few minutes, two epidurals, and a ruptured bladder later, Grayson Alexander Nash was born weighing 2lbs, 10 ounces and too weak to cry. Thankfully, over the next twelve weeks, Brooke Rowley Miller, Amanda Lawson, April Graves, and many other NICU nurses became family, holding my hand as I worried and cried, patting me on the back when I felt defeated, and taking care of my little fella like he was their own. At two years old, this little guy is such a blessing to our family. So, Happy Birthday, Gray. And, congratulations, Baptist NICU on a job overly well done.
