Two young Belfastmen who are at the top of world amateur boxing will enter the ring in the Clonmel park hotel this Sunday night the 26th of October to contest a one off bout against each other. Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlans medals haul from major championship is as good as you will see in the sport of amateur boxing. Paddy Barnes has won bronze medals at the 2012 London and 2008 Bejing Olympics, gold at the 2010 Moscow and silver at the 2013 Minsk European championships, gold at the 2014 Glasgow and gold at the 2010 Delhi commonwealth games. Michael Conlan won bronze 2012 London Olympics, silver 2013 Minsk European championships and gold at the 2014 Glasgow commonwealth games. Clonmels own two stars of international boxing Con Sheehan and Dean Gardiner will also contest a bout against each other in a repeat of this years senior elite Irish championships final which Sheehan claimed by the narrowest of margins.
