Typhoon Glenda was considered to be a mild typhoon not causing as much damage as others have. Yet for us it was a first time experience being awoken by things crashing down around us and the day so dark and winds weve never seen before. Too hot to sleep. The weather extremes that we encounter here are nothing like NZ. The power went off about 4 or 5am this morning and came on at 7pm tonight. We were all trying to save our batteries on our gadgets so we could stay in contact with the outside world. Trying to figure out how to pass time. Playing skipbo in the dark together. But im so thankful for the Lord for keeping us, for our friends here in Phils who constantly check that we are ok. This experience challenges us and makes us realise we are together and safe and thats all that matters. We should never take our life for granted or the blessings of living in a safe house that will not blow away. I just want to thank all of the churches, family, friends PIMs who enabled us to live in a safe home and for continually praying for us and the nation of the Phillipines. We love you all. #thankyouJESUS
