U.S. Army Chaplains are trained to care, nurture and honor not - TopicsExpress

U.S. Army Chaplains are trained to care, nurture and honor not only Soldiers, but their Families as well. For 40 years, the Family Life program within the Chaplains Corps has trained Army Chaplains specifically how to counsel Soldiers and their Families, resulting in a unique set of skills. The process of becoming a Family Life chaplain takes 8-11 years and takes place at one of the Armys three Family Life Chaplain Training Centers. In order to become a Family Life chaplain, one must complete 48 hours of graduate level education in Marriage and Family Therapy. Currently, there are approximately 150 Family Life chaplains. In this two part series, Chaplain (Col.) Thomas Waynick discusses the history of the Family Life Chaplaincy and how these Chaplains minister to Soldiers and their Families today. Has a Family Life chaplain ever impacted YOUR familys life? 1.usa.gov/1obTwX4
