U.S. OBSERVERS JOIN MULTINATIONAL OBSERVER GROUP The United States is supporting the participation of nine U.S. election experts in the Multinational Observer Group and appreciates the efforts to date of observer group co-leads Australia and Indonesia. Yesterday four of the nine U.S. experts were accredited by the Fiji Elections Office while the remaining five observers will join the Multinational Observer Group early next week. An increasingly stable and democratic Fiji is in the best interests of all Pacific island nations, as well as the United States. Our commitment to the people of Fiji has never wavered, and subsequent to credible elections, we look forward to working with those elected to create closer ties between our two nations.
