U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham warned the U.N. today of a violent pushback by the new incoming U.S. Congress -- including a suspension of funding -- if the French, the Jordanians, or anyone tries to avoid direct negotiations between Israeli and Palestinians by going to the Security Council. We will not sit back and allow the United Nations to take over the peace process, said Graham. Earlier, Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat announced that they will seek a vote at the UN as early as this Friday. The new year brings new members like Angola, Malaysia and Venezuela to the Security Council who are more likely to vote against Israel.
