UCC Spanish students had a chance to display their skills and performed well at the Ontario Secondary Schools Spanish Contest at York University’s Glendon campus on May 8. UCC’s five boys, who are taught by Felipe Nilo and Zulay Rodríguez, competed against top students from 30 other schools and three of them placed in the top five in their respective categories. Bora Dirilgen placed first in the intermediate division, Sam Gernburd was second in the beginner category and Shaig Abduragimov received an honourable mention in the intermediate division. Dirilgen received a trophy which will be delivered to UCC soon and will remain at the school for a year.
