UI Fundraiser Raises Most Money in State History The University of Idaho raised more than $261 million during their Inspiring Futures: Invest in the University of Idaho campaign. In the history of the state, no fundraiser has ever brought in this much money. When the campaign started, the goal was to raise $225 million. In the end, UI raised over $36 million more than they had hoped. The seven and a half year long campaign will provide needed investments for student scholarships, faculty support, facility construction and renovations as well as program support. UI President Dr. Chuck Staben says one of the largest areas receiving donations is scholarships. The campaign helped create 153 new scholarships with gifts for student support totaling over $90 million. He says the money not only provides a financial support beyond normal funding from the state and areas such as tuition, but it serves as a significant vote of confidence from the people who donated.
