UK College, Firm Plan Foundation Courses In Nigeria Students seeking to do pre-university programmes ahead of securing admission overseas can now undergo such courses in Nigerian schools. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Michelle and Anthony Consulting, Lagos, Mr. Olufemi Ajulo, stated this at a briefing in Lagos on Friday. Already, the Bells Secondary School, Ota, Ogun State and the Whiteplains British School, Abuja, he said, would run the programmes in the country. According to him, the consulting firm alongside TRC University Foundation in the United Kingdom is putting the initiative together. The exercise, he explained, would save both parents and their children huge financial costs. Ajulo, who decried the huge number of students who fail to secure university admission in the country every year, noted that the foundation courses would further widen admission opportunities for Nigerians. Noting that the initiative would not affect the quality delivery to the students, he explained that TRC would effectively control and moderate the exercise. He said, “We will ensure that every student that runs the programme comes out with higher level of competence for qualification. The UFP Service Director, Mr. Keith Broomer, who spoke on the occasion, promised that the one-year transition programme would cover all the academic courses and prepare the students for proper university education. He also assured of UFP’s support in ensuring that the successful candidates receive due placement in the overseas schools.
