ULTRA MAGAZINE ARTICLE 2/13 21.12.2012 PALENQUE MEXICO “Mankind gathered in numerous places around the world to experience the transition of cycles. A Finnish film crew was at location in Mexico when the famous Mayan calendar ended on the Winter solstice in 2012.” The famous tempels of Palenque are situated in the state of Chiapas in Mexico, close to the totally flat Yuacatan peninsula, where the mountains begin. I had travelled nonstop for almost two days and nights from Finland, to get there in good time before the famous Winter Solstice in 2012. At the moment I entered the gates to the nature reserve, where the temples are located, I felt it was impossible not to sense the really strong energies which started to enlarge in my solar plexus area. The pyramids were just a few kilometers away and I could really feel it in every cell of my body. HOW EVERYTHING STARTED My own interest in Mayas and their famous Long Count calendar started about seven years ago. I was slowly realizing that the history of our world was totally something else than what we had been taught at school. I was interested in the history of Egypt and the pyramids and of course, astronomy, as a small child already. I was seven years old when I learned the Morse code. While laying on the ground in our yard at night I sent messages to the galactic family in the space. All during my young years I wondered if my own consciousness would be able to cope, if I were to know all the secrets the establishments and people in power never told us. In the beginning of the 21st century my awakening was accelerating and information started to roll in from several sources. I have always found the secret history of the world to be fascinating and when spirituality and mysticism came into the picture, I finally got interested in the specific date, 21.12.2012, which was mentioned in 30 different ancient cultures. It was clearly a turning point in my growth of awareness. So the opportunity had excisted already in childhood times and when the chance to act as a producer in a documentary about Mayans and this 2012 phenomenon, I did not have to think about it longer than a blink of the eye! PACALS SPACE SHIP After many months of preparations I was finally in Mexico! Although there are hundreds of Mayan ruins in Mexico, Palenque has been THE place after it was discovered. The area is incredibly large, and only 10 % of the ruins are explored and excavated. The area was ruled by king Pacal the Great, who (probably) was the most famous ruler of ancient Mesoamerica. And the actual famous Long Count -calendar was made thanks to him. Pacal is a mystical character, and possible the most reknown and thought-inspiring picture of him was found inside the voult of the Temple of Inscriptions!, on the lid of the sarcophagus of Pacal; there he sits in a vehicle which reminds of a space ship, with his feet on the pedals, an oxygen tube in his nose and jet flames in the lower part of the ship. So what would be a better place to witness the end of the old world and above all: the beginning of a new golden time! LETTING GO Palenque is located in the middle of a luscious humid jungle. The first days went by getting used to the heat and exploring a new kind of world. One of the most powerful experiences during the first night was to hear the howler monkeys in the jungle. If I had not been warned beforehand I would have been truly frightened. The howler monkey is the loudest mammal in the world and the sound itself is not even close to nice or soft! It is hard to describe, maybe the closest description is in between an attacking dragon and a lion using psychedelics, but even with an attempt to sound nice it is absolutely blood curdling. We were surrounded by extra-ordinary mammals, eagles, poisonous spiders and snakes and just a stones throw away was the temple area with its pyramids. Very interesting people from all around the world were gathered there. There was also a Rainbow Gathering nearby, a hippie movement founded by Vietnam veterans. All were there for one reason: to welcome the new era. Twith the purpose of cleaning the location and people on it there were several different ceremonies and meditations in the nearby jungle, but at some points it was even uncomfortable to just be there due to the strong and thick energies. And I had not even seen the pyramides yet! Many of these people had experienced the most odd things, both on spiritual and material levels. A lot of them had lost their luggage, passport, wallet or even their piece of mind whilst arriving to the location, and there were many talks about leaving good-byes to the material world. Even on the spiritual side many encountered surfacing old issues to be dealth with. It was like the spirit of the Ayahusca plant was moving into the ether, putting many problems in front of people, problems they had hidden under the surface while the ego had taken over the mind. JUNGLE ADVENTURE Even though the majority of the pyramides and temples were totally covered by the jungle, the “Palenque ruinas”, as the locals called the area, was a truly large and striking place. When you step into the area the views are almost miraculous. The El Palacio observatory rises right in front of you, and slightly to the right you can see the Temple of Inscriptions, which, according to the esoteric knowledge, is made by the same owner of the pen as the possibly most famous Maya pyramid of Mexico, Chitchen Itza. Further back in the hillside was the Templo de la Cruz, the Temple of the Cross, where the last rays of sunshine hit from behind the mountains. Behind the ruins are the hills covered in jungle, where there are huge, still unexplored pyramids. There are stories of strange lights and rays coming out of the jungle-covered pyramid especially next to the Temple of Inscriptions. The rumor is that at least four guards have quit, because they were exposed to a strange light and got paralyzed or because they witnessed other “supernatural” events. We got to know an elderly local guide, Victor, who had been helping out archaeologists since a little boy and knew the ruins and especially the secret jungle temples like his own pockets. Victors versions of the past put together a whole new book of history. When he asked if we wanted to go for a jungle adventure to explore the unexplored pyramids we were already tying our sandals before he finished his sentence! While we were hiking through the dense jungle, going uphill, Victor told us that all official history of the Mayans as well as other ancient supercultures is “total rubbish”. We could see building walls covered with murals and lianas allover the jungle and we dug out millenium-old pieces of Mayan cheramic. I couldnt help hearing the Indiana Jones -tune ringing in my ears, as we went further into the jungle, with Victor in front with his machete. We arrived at a high hill, which turned out to be a huge pyramid and from there we continued uphill on a slippery path. Here and there we could see pyramid stones among the underbrush and we had to watch out for poisonous spiders, snakes and spiky plants. When we finally arrived at the top, sweaty and out of breath, the atmosphere was fantastic. There were partly collapsed rooms and passageways at the top and we could even go into some of them. It was an incredible feeling discovering the place, thinking that we might be the first people since the Mayans to marvel at the top of the pyramid. WHO WERE THE MAYANS? People have had a strong fascination for Mayans ever since we have known about their existence, and not without reason. No one can tell for sure where they came from and whereto they suddenly disappeared. Many people believe the Mayans came from the Atlantis. The story says that a part of the ancient wise ones in Atlantis left for Tibet, part of them to Egypt to build pyramids and the rest to America to become hopi-indians and Mayans. The exactness of Mayan architecture and astrological knowledge is still causing amazement and the official science has not been able to prove more than fumbling guesses about this mystical population. Some guess that they have gone back to the stars, some say they have escaped underground or to other dimensions. It is, nevertheless, certain that the Mayans had vast knowledge and tools, which they according to the “official history” could not have had. All the pyramids (as other holy constructions around the world) are combined by the energy flows of the Earth, the lay lines and the strong sound echoes and resonances within the pyramids of different cultures. There has been water running through complex canals under the pyramids and the triangular shape of the pyramids absorbs both cosmic and earth energy. The pyramids have most likely been huge collectors of energy, a kind of factories, and that energy has then been used for a multitude of purposes. And there is also lots of evidence of the interaction between Mayans and the “star people”. When we came back from the jungle Victor showed us many spots, mostly close to El Palacion, where according to him, had the Egyptian Ankh symbol, the Hebrew 7-branch candle holder/menorah, the Chinese Dragon and the Sun symbol of the Hindus. The original Mayan name of the Palenque temple was Lakam Ha, meaning “big water” or “wide water”. According to Victor the sea had reached this far in ancient times and the previously mentioned cultures had regularly visited this place. 21.12.2012 A few days before the winter solstice I was in the dark going to the outhouse when it flashed in the sky. Something flew with a very high speed towards the pyramides and left a beautiful purple trail in the sky, which had pearl-like lights like on a necklace. A few moments after this there was a low bang from far away and at that same moment the spectacularly loud night concert of the jungle went silent, like with a cut of the knife. I could feel the hair stand back on my neck and each cell in my body vibrate. After this I experienced three flash-like glints and each time I almost jumped in the air. Only one in our company experienced the same, even though we sat in the same space under the palms. Later on that evening we saw blinking stars, on three different occasions, which circulated and suddenly changed direction. One shaman guessed that I had received a “galactic update”, who knows. Whatever the case, the evening was unforgettable. Then it was finally midnight and the day changed, bringing millions of people the long awaited date of 21.12.2012, and the skies opened and it started pouring rain. The water came with such a force, causing a tremendous rumble on our sheet metal roof, that to be able to speak with the person beside you, you had to scream as loud as you could. The rain lasted for exactly 24 hours and ended gradually when the day became the next one. Nothing like this had been experienced in the Palenque area ever before. Even though the stairs of the ruins became water falls and the paths mud puddles, the atmosphere and feeling was surprisingly light. People danced and sang in the rain and there was a general sense of celebration throughout the area. The guards had opened a “chamber” on top of a pyramid, where almost a hundred people had sought shelther from the rain, chanting and singing, while the pyramied changed the sounds to a holy vibration, which touched all close by. The rain took the heaviest energies from the area with it and it was kind of an appropriate, totally right way to spend the last day of the cyclic time and the old world. The rest of the journey took us to the awesome jungle temples in Yachilan, to the gentle atmosphere of the Cenotes and the Caribbean Sea? with dolphins and turtles, but that is a whole different story! Let us increase the amount of love and light on this wonderful and beautiful planet of ours together, because we are, after all, one family!
