UNAFF (United Nations Association Film Festival) was originally conceived to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The 16th UNAFF will be held from October 17-27, 2013 in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Francisco and Stanford University. The theme for this year is INDIVIDUAL TO UNIVERSAL. UNAFF celebrates the power of films dealing with human rights, environmental themes, women’s issues, population, homelessness, racism, children, health, universal education, war and peace. In the past sixteen years, UNAFF has attracted a broad audience from the San Francisco Bay Area with regards to ethnicity - many finding the screenings to be a rare chance to see the state of human rights and culture in their own native countries. UNAFF promotes education, awareness and social change through images, dialogue and action. unaff.org/2013/index.html
