UNDERSTANDING PRESIDENT JONATHANS NATIONAL SECURITY APPROACH. National security as a concept wears the Hobbesian fashion of high politics as a matter of national survival of a state. by academic inclinations, its assumes the position of the most powerful concept of political studies, bothering on the national maintenance of public order and the engendering of national prosperity and the enjoyment of social life. it deals mostly with the preservation of national values and ideology. therefore, a national security threat is an attack on the national values of the state and equally on the national ideology. The academic problem of the above definition is the scientific question of the cultural relativity of national security as a concept of national interest, however this problem is addressed effectively in the policy formulation and implementation of security issues of various countries. This is because national security problems emerge as a result of domestic political crisis with some influence of foreign conditions. therefore, understanding a presidential national security directive is imperative to assessing the administration of governance. The president by the tradition of the republican state, occupies the first office of national consent due to the fact that his political constituency covers all the locality of the Nigerian entity. By this standard the President becomes the first victim of the threat to state stability. How a counter-insurgency state is effectively managed is dependent on many factors: first, the conditions of national power capabilities of the state must be put to question; second is the ontological characteristics of the intelligent agencies, etc. These problems are more difficult to address, especially when the intelligent agencies were first created to manage regime security. this ontological characteristic is paradoxical to democracy due to the inherent principle of accountability. Upon all these difficulties, the President national security directive have maintain a liberal posture, reducing the incentive attach to conflict, and equally undermining the creation of a permanent economy of war within our national polity. more outstanding is the avoidance of the temptation of adopting a neo-fascist national security approach. This was demonstrated when the Presidency declared state of emergency that left state democratic institutions untouched, unlike the Obasanjo era. However, many area of our national lives are calling for the attention of the presidency, one must not shy away from praising Mr President on the management of the countrys national economy, because no where in the world are war time President, good economy managers. war zaps a nations economy, but this current administration had managed to save us from the worst. THEREFORE, THE PRESIDENT DESERVE A SECOND TERM!!.
