UNIVERSITY OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES URGES ALL THEIR STUDENTS TO BE AMBASSADORS OF PEACE BEFORE AND AFTER SUPREME COURT VERDICT. Accept our warm greetings from the office of the University of Professional Studies SRC, the official mouth piece of all Students of the university. The 2012 election petition, which is currently before the Supreme Court and awaits verdict today 29th August, 2013 is very much followed with keen interest by every Ghanaian citizen and the world at large. The Ghanaian youth constitute the largest proportion of our population, of whom are either in the second cycle or tertiary institutions. Indeed, we are the future leaders of mother Ghana and therefore should not allow ourselves to be swayed politically. We are very much aware of the sensitization campaigns been carried out by the Christian Council of Ghana, the Muslim community, the National Commission on Civic Education, the Ghana Police Service among others. The S.R.C is equally keen on this peace campaign movement and wish to advise all Students of University of Professional Studies, Accra to refrain from any act that will jeopardize the peace that we are currently enjoying. It is incumbent on other student leaders to counsel their students to respect the verdict of the Supreme Court and remain calm to allow peace and unity to sail our boat to development. The Office of the President and the Executives of the S.R.C is however appealing to the various student leaders to be very conscious of their deeds today to consider the future in order not to sell the integrity and the respect of the students fronts because of the verdict of the supreme court. The S.R.C Executive Members of UPSA are in ready to render full respect to whatever verdict of the Supreme Court; and would expect students of UPSA to do likewise. We have always been peace lovers and should Endeavour to sustain it.
