UPDATE 7/12/2014- READ WHOLE POST: We realize that people are frustrated with the amount of changes that have occurred with such short notice. Please understand that this event was planned entirely in less than a week and has received greater support than we ever imagined. We have adjusted our plan and really truly hope that this simplifies things for everyone involved. EVERYONE (families of the dogs, set-up crew, and wonderful supporters) will meet at Perry High School/Branch Library on Queen Creek Rd between Val Vista and Greenfield (1965 E Queen Creek Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85297). We are no longer using Weinberg Elementary for this event. Perry HS has enough parking to accommodate everyone and is .6 miles from the memorial site. The walk will begin from here at 7:30pm and will be led by the families that lost loved ones at Green Acre. If you are physically unable to walk to the memorial you will still meet in this location and transport services will bring you from Perry HS to the memorial site at 7:15pm. PERRY HS IS CIRCLED IN BLUE ON MAP BELOW. ROUTE IS IN RED. Megan will be collecting thank you cards for the neighbors from 7:00 to 7:15pm tonight. She will be with a Dalmatian dog and wearing a yellow ribbon. If you ordered a car decal from Lee Ann, she will be out before the walk starts handing them out. Please contact her with questions about this…. She will have a sign stating who she is. Do not bring animals to this event. No smoking, No bathroom facilities… please do not ask. Bring your own candles. There are more mosquitos out there than you could ever imagine so please come prepared. Some bug spray will be provided and the yard has been dosed with spray thanks to the kind neighbors but bringing your own is a good idea.
