UPDATE: NEW POSITION Title: 5th Grade Teacher Location: Outside of PaP The Teacher will be responsible to provide learning experiences for the students through a supportive and positive climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed standards set forth below, using approved curricula and materials. He/she will further: •Develops and delivers a stan...dards-based curriculum based on the Haitian National Curriculum and the additional trilingual curriculum provided by the school. •Plans and implement instruction to ensure that all students, develop skills in communication, use critical thinking, decision-making, and problem solving skills and demonstrate self-management skills; •Manages when appropriate, multiple instructional activities simultaneously •Ensures that Haitian Standards of Education are met and exceeded. •Recommends budget needs to the Principal or designated supervisor. •Submits lesson plans in the approved format to the Principal or designated supervisor as required and requested. •Employs a variety of methods for students to demonstrate learning and accomplishments; evaluates and grades homework, assignments, and tests in a timely fashion, providing feedback to the student on performance. •Move through a range of instructional techniques, keeping students motivated, engaged •Engage students to ensure a disciplined learning environment •Assess the progress of individual students as well as the class as a whole. •Use multiple methods for measuring student growth and understanding Qualifications •B.A – Education or related teaching certification preferred. •Fluent in English, French and Créole. •Must have experience in teaching and working with elementary-aged students in the field. •Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community. •Demonstrates the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications. •Experience in work overseas, especially Haiti, preferred. •Curriculum development experience with a focus on elementary education, preferred.
