[ UPDATE ] NEW YORK CITY, NY — An 84-year-old man was hospitalized after NYPD knocked him unconscious after he was suspected of jaywalking. He did not understand why the officer was yelling at him since he does not speak English. After being beaten, he was then charged with three offenses: jaywalking, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. “He’s still traumatized,” the mans son said. “Just crossing the street, he’s afraid of cops coming up from behind and arresting him. He won’t cross even if the crosswalk signal is blinking because of what occurred. He’s terrified, in fact.” Nearly a year after the incident, there have been no reports of any officer being disciplined for the assault on Mr. Wong. He has filed a lawsuit against the city.
