UPDATE ON DADDY: This afternoon we transitioned him from bi-pap mask to O2 w nasal cannula. He did amazingly well as we all held our breath at the possibility that he may take his last breaths. They regulated the morphine drip and other medications where he is very comfortable. He was even able to have a taste of his fav ice cream. All 4 children, grandchildren and many other family and friends got the chance to visit w him, tell stories about him and tell him how much we love him. I was able to bath him tonight and shave him so hell hopefully have a good nights sleep and be rested for Sunday visitors! Whatever time he has left is up to God and Daddys fight to live, but he says he is ready when the good Lord calls him home. Thank u all for your calls (some Ive been unable to return as today was so busy making decisions and trying to spend precious time together w Daddy while he is alert), text, messages, visits and prayers. They have all meant so much to us all. Daddy has really enjoyed the visits (especially pretty girls!). He has rallied every time someone came to see him and knew them. We have been very amazed at Gods grace and allowing us time as family and friends giving him/us his mental status to enjoy these past days even as his body is physiologically shutting down. He is in rm 1042 on 10 S at RMH. Please feel free to come visit if ud like. The room is lg and there is a wonderful comfortable waiting rm for family and friends. The staff is very accommodating and they want this time to be a time to enjoy the ending of a life well lived. I am very sad to feel this is prob the last few days Ill have here on this earth w my Daddy, but have no regrets as to doing all I could do to help make these last few yrs special ones for him and us. Please cont to pray for a miraculous healing, but if not, an easy comfortable passing if that be Gods will.
