UPDATE ON FORMER FULLERTON POLICE OFFICERS CHARGED IN THE KELLY THOMAS CASE Tomorrow morning (June 7th) in superior Court, Jay Cicinelli has a “motion to sever” to be heard. It will be in Department C-40, 10th floor in Santa Ana, 9:00am. The DA has asked that the defense for Ramos ALSO be in court as they have filed a continuance that is to be heard on June 28th (the same date that the trial is to start). The DA also thinks that the Motion to Sever will be denied. Feeling that the continuance will be granted, the DA will be asking the court (and both defense teams) to agree to a new trial date of October 18th, 2013. Why you ask, Joe Wolfe has a 995 and Trial Setting Conference on July 12th (remember, he was charged one year after the other two). The feeling is that the 995 motion will be denied, and the aim is to include Wolfe in the October 18th trial so all three will be tried together.
