UPDATE ON FRESHERS & STAYLITES INCREMENT AS AT 30TH MAY, 2014: Revolutionary Greetings to Great Ife! Although, the dust raised by the increment of fees payable by fresh students is yet to settle, the school management has published yet another increment on stallites fees. However, it must be noted that during the negotiations on the freshers fees, the management UNDERTOOK not to discuss the increment in stallites fees until the new Students Union excos have been sworn in & a consensus is reached between the two parties. The swearing in is yet to be conducted, in fact Mgmt refused to do it(purportedly to incapacitate us, but events proved otherwise), never consulted us and yet the University Management has announced an increment in the fees. The Union, which is legally & constitutionally empowered to defend your interests, hereby declares that no stale student should pay the fees. Congress would hold tommoro,3May by 10am @SUB to reappraise next line of actions. It should be reiterated that any stallite who pays is indirectly telling us to stop fighting. And if anyone pays, he or she shall be treated like a traitor. Do not be a traitor! United we stand, Divided we fall. To dear fresh students, we still maintain our stand that only payment of acceptance fee is required for securing your admission under the law. Discard the message sent to you. There is enough accommodation for fresh students. As for the school fees, the struggle still continues. For those who remain with us & have not paid & could not get accomodation, report to the Union. Baba Ooni invited us to a meeting today. Outcome to be communicated after the meeting. Congress would hold tommoro,31st May by 10am @SUB to reappraise next line of actions. La Luch Sigue.
