UPDATE ON MY SISTER: We are on our way home from from seeing my sister, Debra Weaver. My wife, Amy Dzialok Weaver has generously offered to drive home, (as I am exhausted and I think I am coming down with something)....an anniversary present I will graciously accept. Deb looks so sad. Still on ventilator and still sedated in the ICU. They believe she is doing okay. But she was fighting the ventilator, fighting coming out of the anesthesia, and still restless and not able to follow nurses instructions. So they are keeping her sedated, for now. It is so, so sad to see such a strong, capable woman, who is normally so full of life and love, be in such a helpless condition. On the bright side, she seems to be in caring and capable hands. With any luck, they will have her off the ventilator and beginning the long road to recovery. Lots of family and lots of love have been by her side. I only wish Iived closer or that my life and work demands permitted me to be down with Deb more often and for longer periods of time....
