UPDATE: The Berrien County Sheriffs Department is investigating after a female body was found in New Buffalo along U.S. 12. The victim is believed to be a black female, between the ages of 30 and 40. She was located north of the Amtrak right of way. It is not believed that the victim was struck by a train as there were no outward signs of trauma. Due to the placement of the body investigators believe that the body was disposed of at this location. Investigators are seeking help from the public. If you are aware of a missing black female please report her to your local police department in the hope that this victim can be identified.
