UPDATE from AACAC on Solomon, the dog who apparently was struck by a car (see Jan. 19 post): Unfortunately in surgery today, when able to see the true extent of the damage, the veterinarian discovered Solomons (as named by shelter staff) injuries were not repairable in a manner that would allow him to have a comfortable quality of life. Based on veterinary recommendation, Solomon was humanely euthanized. In the time he was under our care he received veterinary treatment and all attempts were made to keep him as comfortable as possible. Friends of AACAC would like to add that Solomon was being treated by Dr. Scott Andersen, the extraordinarily compassionate and experienced owner of Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital. Dr. Andersen has saved the lives of many animals from AACAC, and we are grateful for the loving care he and his staff gave Solomon, whose owner was not found.
