URGENT ACTION SUDAN RELEASES PRISONER OF CONSCIENCE Sudanese lawyer, human rights activist and one of the first class of the Sudanese Communist party leader Dr. Sidgi Kabalo, who was arrested by the National Security Service in 26 September, 2013, is detained in UN-known area in Khartoum. Dr. Sidgi Kabalo was arrested on 26 September 2013 by the National Security Services (NSS) and was detained without charges upon his arrival from the UK. Dr. Sidgi Kabalo was held in to an UN-Known area confinement for UN-known period and was interrogated repeatedly. Dr. Sidgi Kabalo is a lawyer and a human rights defender. Before he was arrested, he defended numerous political prisoners and prisoners of conscience. Dr. Sidgi Kabalo is a member of the opposition Sudanese Communist Party– (SCP), which was banned by the Government of Sudan in many occasions. His detention appears to be part of a pattern of detention of SCP activists, intellectuals, and religious leaders, regarding to the current situation of the country (Demonstrations) Many thanks to all who sent appeals, Muatasim Mahdi
