URGENT NEED OF RESCUE*** The Goliad County Sheriffs Office in Goliad, Tx called us today reporting an injured dog laying in a ditch! Kali and I went over and found this big boy:( And of course it was afternoon so that meant an emergency visit to our vet!!Looks like this boy had his mouth taped shut at one time and used as a bait dog He has severe wounds on his head, eye, and neck. One leg is badly infected but not broken! Dr. Barnett did do a local on his infected leg so he could lance it and let it drain. It was very nasty with infection, but it immediately gave him relief. He has yeast, fungal, and bacterial infections on all feet and in open wounds! His right eye is ulcerated but our vet thinks he can save it!! He weighed 52 lbs but should weigh 75!! Now for the good news... This boy is young, maybe 2 years old and heartworm NEGATIVE, unbelievable...and really unbelievable, seeing that he is skin and bones, he tested NEGATIVE for hookworms!! Which sadly means he was starved before being used for bait:( This boy is at our vet now but we really need a Rescue for him as soon as he is able to leave! We DO NOT have any place for him!!
